: My boyfriend has leg pereth and we now have a two year old boy. He has a limp when he walks. He loves to jump off of things, he runs etc. We brought him yesterday to the doctors and he checked him did the rotating of the hips etc, he said he didn't see anything wrong but if he was still limping in a couple of weeks then bring him back and we would do an x-ray. Is this inherited? What causes this to happen? If anyone has suggestions I would appreciate them. I am very scared. I would like to know different things to do or different ways to help him. Is jumping a cause?

I would suggest a second opinion and request a MRI, the sooner the condition is diagnosed if it is there the sooner treatment can start such as limiting weight bearing, ROM exercises, etc.

Our son's condition went from nothing there as indicated by an MRI to loss of circulation in a 2 month period.

There are other things that may display the same /similar symtoms, it would be best if those are ruled out. I thank my wife for keeping after the doctors, there is no reason why a healthy child limps, there is a reason.

Best of luck, God Bless

Ralph
